Zermatt is a car-free resort at the foot of Switzerland's most famous mountain, the Matterhorn. This attractive blend of Alpine village and sophisticated holiday destination boasts a varied offering, including a modern lift system, comfortable hotels, practical holiday apartments and friendly hosts. The skiing areas stretches from 1,620 to 3,882m. Skiing in Italy is also an option when based here - 62 mountain trains provide access to 313 km of runs in Zermatt and Cervinia (Italy). Ski clubs introduce children to the world of skiing, while interesting freeride slopes, heli-skiing and the Gravity Park ensure the "cracks" amongst us have a fun winter.Pictures from this ski resort
