Mt Hood Meadows - Ski resort facts
Mt Hood Meadows sports the most varied terrain of the Mt Hood Ski areas, and provides as much in-bounds acreage as many Western destination resorts. With over 400 inches of annual snowfall, deep powder days are common, making a foot or more of new snow a common occurrence. Expert riders appreciate the steep, ungroomed slopes of Upper Heather Canyon, where powdery slopes provide a backcountry experience with the convenience of lift access. Lower Heather, winch-groomed when conditions warrant, provide an unparalleled steep-slope carving experience. Six meticulously maintained parks, along with Transworld Magazine's top-ten rated 18 foot Superpipe cater to snowboarders and freestyle skiers. In addition to the expert terrain, there are plenty of beginner-friendly slopes open for those working on new skills. When spring arrives at Meadows, an additional 1000 vertical feet of expert terrain open above Heather Canyon. Snowcat service provides easy access, but intrepid hikers are welcome as well! In addition to providing fantastic skiing, Meadows is one of the greenest resorts in the nation. Renewable energy powers two high-speed quads already, with plans for more green action in the future.
